The difference between craft beer and Industrial beer(1)The difference between craft beer and Industrial beer(1)
Now, craft beer has become synonymous with high-end beer, with a bottle of tens of dollars, or even a thousand dollars.
What difference does it make between industrial beer (industrial beer) and craft beer that we have been drinking for half a lifetime, such as snowflake?
1, Different raw materials
Beer is a low-alcoholic fermented wine that contains carbon dioxide as the main raw material, plus hops (or hops) produced by yeast fermentation. Beer can usually be divided into craft beer and industrial beer according to raw materials and fermentation process. The common Budweiser, Carlsberg, Qingdao and snowflakes are all industrial beer.
(1) Craft Beer: Brewing only with malt, hops, yeast, and water without adding any artificial additives. Compared with the industrial beer, the malt content is more, the hops are added more, and the brewing wort concentration is higher. In general, craft beer does not need much consideration for cost when brewing, and most of them will choose the best raw materials to make.
(2) Industrial beer: It is also made from malt, hops, yeast, and water. However, in order to pursue cost, more raw materials such as rice, corn, and starch are used instead of malt. The beer wort produced in this way has a very low concentration and a light taste.
2, Different fermentation process
The fermentation process of craft beer and industrial beer is also different. Usually the craft beer uses Ales (upper fermentation process), and the industrial beer adopts a Lager process (Larges, lower fermentation process). The main difference is the location of the yeast and the fermentation temperature during fermentation. as the picture shows:
